Day 2 Recap:

On the second day, East Zone was bowled out for just 122 runs in their first innings. Central Zone had a strong unbeaten opening partnership at the end of day 2.

 

Day 3 Morning Session:

In the morning session, both Central Zone openers reached their half-century milestones. However, the East Zone bowlers fought back and took three wickets quickly. After lunch, Riyan Parag struck early and dismissed Rinku Singh, who had been in great form recently. At that time, Central Zone was at 164/4 in their second innings. Shubham Sharma and Upendra Yadav tried to build a partnership, but Upendra was also dismissed by Ishan Porel, breaking their 18-run partnership. After Shubham's dismissal, Central Zone kept losing wickets and were eventually all out for 239 runs in their second innings. Now, East Zone needs 300 runs to win the match.

It has been an exciting game in the Duleep Trophy between Central Zone and East Zone. Let's recap the events of Day 3.

 

Morning Session:

Central Zone's openers continued their impressive form and reached their half-century milestones. However, East Zone's bowlers fought back and took three crucial wickets, denting Central Zone's progress.

 

After Lunch:

The start of the post-lunch session brought a significant breakthrough for East Zone as Riyan Parag dismissed the in-form Rinku Singh early in his innings. Rinku could only manage 6 runs off 8 balls before being caught by Shantanu Mishra, thanks to Riyan's bowling brilliance.

 

Central Zone's Woes:

Central Zone's middle order struggled to build substantial partnerships, and they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Shubham Sharma and Upendra Yadav attempted to stabilize the innings, but Upendra fell victim to Ishan Porel's bowling, breaking their partnership. Shubham, too, was eventually dismissed after a hard-fought innings.

 

All Out on 239:

Central Zone's batting lineup collapsed, and they were eventually bowled out for 239 runs in their second innings. Their lead now stands at 300 runs, setting up an intriguing chase for East Zone.

 

East Zone's Innings:

In their pursuit of 300 runs to win, East Zone faced early setbacks as Saurabh Kumar claimed the wicket of A.S. Easwaran. Sudip Kumar also departed without contributing any runs, leaving East Zone struggling at 19/2.

 

Saurabh Kumar's Heroics:

Saurabh Kumar continued his impressive bowling display, dismissing Arindam Majumdar to further dent East Zone's hopes. Shubham Sharma joined the party and got both Shahbaz and Shantanu out with his spin bowling. Captain Shivam Mavi also struck and dismissed Kumar Kushagra, leaving East Zone reeling at 69/6.
