 In the Duleep Trophy semi-final, West Zone (WZ) won the toss and elected to bat first. The opening pair of captain P. Panchal and Prithvi Shaw provided a solid start with a 43-run partnership. However, Saurabh Kumar, the hero of the previous match, broke the opening stand. Subsequently, Pujara, Surya, Sarfaraz Khan, and Het Patel failed to contribute significantly, hampering the team's progress.

 The all-rounders, Atit Sheth and D. Jadeja, then formed a partnership of 70+ runs, rescuing WZ. By the end of the day, WZ reached a total of 216/8 at day end

Morning Session - Day 2:

 

The second day of the Duleep Trophy semi-final commenced with WZ resuming their first innings at 216/8. CT Gaja and Arzan Nagwaswalla were at the crease. However, CZ's captain, Shivam Mavi, showcased his bowling prowess by striking early. He dismissed Nagwaswalla and Yash Jodia, limiting WZ to just 4 additional runs. As a result, WZ was bowled out for 220, with Mavi claiming an impressive 6-wicket haul.

 

In CZ's first innings, they faced a challenging start as WZ's bowlers continued their dominance. Mavi's side lost their opener, Vivek Singh, in the third ball of the innings. In the following over, CT Gaja accounted for the wicket of Himanshu Mishra, leaving CZ struggling at 2/6. Dhruv Jurel and Amandeep Khare came to the crease to stabilize the innings.

 

Jurel, who had showcased his skills , played a commendable innings, scoring a quickfire 46 runs off 55 balls. However, Amandeep fell victim to Gaja, further denting CZ's progress at 26/3. Rinku Singh joined Jurel, and the pair added 43 runs to the scorecard before Jurel was dismissed by Nagwaswalla. Upendra Yadav also fell early to Nagwaswalla's bowling.

 

At lunch, CZ reached a total of 87/5, still trailing WZ by 133 runs. Rinku Singh remained unbeaten on 22 runs, providing hope for CZ's innings.
