Day 1 Match Blog:

In the highly anticipated match between North Zone and North East Zone, North East Zone won the toss and elected to bowl first. It seemed like a favorable decision at the beginning as their fast bowlers looked menacing. However, Dhruv Shorey and Prashant Chopra had other plans.

The opening duo displayed exceptional batting skills, stitching together an impressive partnership of 80 runs. Shorey, in particular, showcased his class and determination, scoring a brilliant 135 runs off 211 deliveries. His innings was filled with elegant strokes, including 16 boundaries. Unfortunately, he was eventually dismissed by Kishan Singha.

Chopra provided a steady start but fell victim to Jotin after scoring 32 runs off 68 balls. The batting lineup faced a few setbacks as AR Kalsi was dismissed for a golden duck by Jotin and Prabhsimran Singh lost his wicket to Imliwati after contributing 31 runs.

Ankit Kumar and JJ Yadav couldn't convert their starts and were dismissed by Dippu and Kishan Singha, respectively. However, Nishant Sindhu held the innings together, displaying excellent resilience. He remained unbeaten on 76 runs off 113 deliveries, including 8 boundaries.

Pulkit Narang accompanied Sindhu towards the end of the day, providing valuable support. Narang remained not out on 23 runs off 66 balls. Together, they helped North Zone reach a competitive total of 306/6 at the close of play.

North East Zone's bowling attack showed glimpses of brilliance, with Kishan Singha and Jotin claiming two wickets each. Imliwati and Dippu also chipped in with a wicket each.
